Book a limousine service with a clear scope

Chauffeured saloons, spacious vans and event vehicles serve different needs. The key distinction is whether you need a defined transfer or a vehicle and chauffeur at your disposal for an agreed period.

Point-to-point transfer or hourly hire?

A transfer connects an agreed pickup point and destination. Extra stops, detours and waiting are not automatically included. Hourly hire makes the vehicle available for a period, but included mileage can still be limited.

For a wedding with several stops, the schedule matters more than distance alone. Allow time for boarding, photographs and waiting. For business appointments with an uncertain finish, agree how extensions are requested and charged.

Compare the vehicle and usable space

Business, First Class and VIP are not standardised equipment lists. Ask about vehicle class, seats, luggage space and the features you need. A particular model is only promised when the booking confirms it.

A stretch limousine serves a different purpose from an executive saloon or chauffeured van. Check venue access and ease of boarding. More seats do not necessarily mean a larger boot; declare large cases and sports equipment explicitly.

What is included in the price?

Do not compare a transfer price, hourly rate and day package by the headline amount alone. Minimum hire time, included mileage and travel to the pickup point can change the total. Multi-day trips may add the chauffeur’s accommodation and meals.

Request a total with VAT and clearly stated extras. Published tariffs use different structures: a kilometre rate and hourly figure cannot reliably be combined without their applicable conditions.

Allow time for airport collection

Landing time is not the time you will reach the arrivals exit. Baggage collection and entry formalities take time. Agree the meeting point, pickup time, flight monitoring and arrangements for delays.

Some operators include a waiting allowance; others charge differently. Confirm when that allowance starts and ends. Supplying a flight number helps planning, but does not resolve delayed luggage or an unreachable passenger by itself.

Agree special requests in advance

Child seats, boarding assistance, decorations, drinks and photo stops should be arranged before booking. Confirm who supplies accessories and whether they cost extra. Travelling in an occupied wheelchair requires an explicitly suitable vehicle.

For cross-border journeys, confirm the full route and return. Longer bookings need to allow for driver breaks and staffing arrangements. An enquiry does not reserve a car: obtain written confirmation of the vehicle class and itinerary.

Frequently asked questions

Is a chauffeur included?

A chauffeured limousine service supplies vehicle and driver together. Check the scope; self-drive vehicle hire is a different service.

Can I request a particular model?

Yes. Put the request in the optional notes and have it confirmed. An example photograph or vehicle class does not guarantee a specific model.

Does all waiting cost extra?

Not necessarily. Some transfers include an allowance, while hourly bookings work differently. The confirmed terms determine when extra charges begin.

Can a limousine service use a van?

Yes. Chauffeur services often offer vans for groups or extra luggage. Compare actual space and comfort rather than the label alone.
