Plan the complete vending operation
A machine must dispense its products and suit its location. Procurement and operation are separate: self-service still needs replenishment, cleaning and fault handling.
Define products before technology
State product groups, packaging and fragile items. Drinks, snacks, fresh meals and other goods need different dispensing arrangements.
Selection count differs from total stock. Have packaging, compartment layout and delivery mechanism checked together.
Match dispensing and temperature
Spirals, elevators and individual compartments differ. Cooling and temperature zones must suit actual goods; refrigeration does not establish suitability for every food.
| Goods | Check technically |
|---|---|
| Bottles and cans | Size and dispensing |
| Fresh meals | Temperature control and monitoring |
| Fragile goods | Drop height or elevator |
| Other goods | Packaging and compartment size |
Distinguish indoor, outdoor and access
Weather, sunlight and vandalism change requirements. A canopy does not turn an indoor model into an outdoor one. Allow footprint, door opening and refill access.
Transport, power and any data connection are part of installation. Site consent and operating requirements are separate; purchase is not permission to place a machine.
Compare payment and its charges
Define cash, card, mobile payment or internal accounts. Terminal, provider and fees may be separate from machine price.
Discuss failed delivery and refunds as well as accepting payment. For remote management, agree access, recurring charges and responsibility without sharing passwords in the quote request.
Allocate replenishment, checks and cleaning
Self-operation and managed service need different agreements. Define stock, replenishment, shelf life, cleaning and faults. Unstaffed vending does not mean work-free operation.
Food and operating requirements still matter when selling food. Clarify implementation with the responsible party and, where needed, cantonal food control; an equipment quote is not complete legal compliance confirmation.
Assess costs and responsibilities together
Compare equivalent products, equipment and duration. Sales assumptions are not guaranteed revenue. Energy, waste, refill time, payments and breakdowns affect the calculation.
| Item | Define in the quote |
|---|---|
| Procurement | Machine, payment and configuration |
| Installation | Transport, positioning and connections |
| Operation | Goods, replenishment and cleaning |
| Contract | Duration, fees and return |
Prepare request and acceptance
Describe quantity, product families, location and operation. Explain packaging, peaks and requested features once instead of repeating product lists.
Confirm configuration, roles and exclusions before ordering. At handover, check dispensing, payment and fault reporting with intended stock and have operators instructed.
Frequently asked questions
Is this limited to snack machines?
No. Describe drinks, food or other goods for individual assessment.
Can I refill the machine myself?
If agreed. Clarify responsibilities and training first.
Is every model suitable outdoors?
No. Site conditions and the model’s suitability must match.
Are card reader and fees included?
Not automatically. Check hardware, contracts and recurring charges.
Does the machine guarantee revenue?
No. Demand, stock and operation determine the outcome.
Does a quote replace operating checks?
No. Clarify site, products and responsibilities separately.
