Compare POS equipment within the complete sales process
POS, payment terminals and accounting serve different purposes. A solution connects actual sales with the required equipment, data and reports. Packages do not include every interface.
Describe sales and scope
State sector, sites and simultaneous checkout points. New installation, replacement, expansion and software on existing hardware differ.
Sales by item, weight, variant or table change requirements. Describe returns, vouchers or split bills rather than sending a list of keywords.
Check sector-specific functions
Retail, hospitality and appointment-based services need different workflows. Advertised functions must actually be available in your package, on your devices and for your process.
| Operation | Ask to see demonstrated |
|---|---|
| Retail | Variants, stock and returns |
| Hospitality | Tables, orders and split bills |
| Services | Bookings, services and vouchers |
| Multiple sites | Allocation, stock and central overview |
Define hardware and payments separately
Touch devices or PCs, printers, scanners, drawers, scales and mobile units must be compatible. Existing hardware is not automatically reusable; clarify models and configuration.
A payment terminal does not automatically replace POS functions. Clarify integrated or separate recording, contracts, charges and refunds.
Identify interfaces and migration
Accounting, stock, online stores and other systems need confirmed integration or agreed exports. Interface names do not establish direction, coverage or recurring charges.
For replacement, agree products, prices, stock and other data separately. System names and data types are enough for a quote; real customers, transactions and passwords are unnecessary.
Check outages, closing and records
Offline operation may cover only part of the workflow. Check sales, payments, daily closing and synchronisation separately. Test agreed workflows using example data before switching.
Agree reports, traceable records and readable exports with accounting. Clarify retention and access after contract termination. Advertising does not replace checking your actual recordkeeping requirements.
Compare initial and recurring costs together
Compare matching checkout points, sites, equipment and duration. Licences may depend on devices, sites, modules or users. Setup and migration are not automatically included in monthly charges.
| Item | Compare |
|---|---|
| Start | Hardware, setup and migration |
| Software | Licences, modules and interfaces |
| Payments | Terminal, contracts and charges |
| Support | Help, updates and exit exports |
Prepare the request and introduction
State sector, checkout points, sites and devices. Explain workflows, existing systems and migration once. Request a demonstration of essential everyday cases.
Confirm modules, compatibility and exclusions before ordering. Agree products, payment integration and training before transition. After setup, check sales, returns, closing and exports against agreed examples.
Frequently asked questions
Is a card terminal already a POS system?
Not automatically. Recording sales, managing products and payments are distinct functions.
Can existing hardware be retained?
After checking specific models and software compatibility.
Does every cloud POS work offline?
No. Clarify sales, payments, closing and later synchronisation separately.
Are interfaces automatically included?
No. Compare confirmed systems, data coverage, setup and recurring charges.
Do I need to send real business data?
No. Functions, systems and required data types are sufficient initially.
How do I compare monthly packages?
Use equivalent checkout points, sites and modules, including all setup, payment and support costs.
